Radiohead, Pink Floyd and others form music lobby group
vruz:
Robbie Williams, Blur, Radiohead and Pink Floyd are launching The Featured Artists’ Coalition, a group aimed at defending artists’ voices in a digital era. The group believes that it is “a defining time for the industry”, with artists gaining power on the internet, communicating and selling their music directly to fans.
“A lot of the rights and revenue streams are being carved up, and we need a voice,” says Radiohead guitarist Ed O’Brien. The lobby group will deal with matters such as digital sales, copyright laws and signing deals with social media platforms such as YouTube, Nokia and MySpace.
