I’ve been a fan of Alan Dejecacion’s photos for quite a while. On the upteenth occasion of having the impulse to tumble one of his photos and then not doing it because he doesn’t like his work used without permission, I took a moment to write him a note and ask if it would be alright to republish his work. He graciously agreed.
I love how this photo has so little white in it, consisting almost entirely of shades of black and gray. And what’s in focus and what’s not. And the textures that come through from film. And how the attention to the camera by the the photographer who took the photo and by the photographer who tied that makeshift strap onto it conveys the love that photographers must bring to their work.
